Love Faux Metal Embossing! Using Stampin’ Up! Products

Hi everyone!

I hope you have had a good weekend.  I’ve spent it still recovering from a virus and an ear infection, I’ll be glad when I can hear properly out of my left ear again!

IMG_1617

Today’s card features not a new technique, but one I’ve not used up until now.  Wow! I think I’m in love! This is such a fun way to create your own embellishments to add to a design.  If you want to learn how to do it, I used this Stampin’ Up! tutorial.

IMG_1619

The photos really don’t do the shininess of the copper or the black justice.  The Love embellishment was done by cutting the sentiment (from the Sunshine Wishes Dies) three times in Basic Black card stock and then sticking them on top of each other.  I then glossed them with the ‘Fine-Tip Glue Pen’.

I hope you have liked this card, and if you decide to give faux metal embossing a try please do share your projects in the comments.

New Home Card made by Sam’s Crafty Things using Stampin’ Up! Products

Hello!!

Wow where has the time gone?! This year has just flown by and I can’t quite believe it’s been so long since I last posted.

Some good friends of mine have just moved home and I thought that the new Sleigh Ride Edgelit Dies would make the perfect new home card.

How cute are those little houses!

I experimented with the sun in the background by sponging inks through a stencil cut from the 1 3/4″ circle punch.

Christmas Tag-A-Bags created by Sam’s Crafty Things, using Stampin’ Up! Products

Hi everyone!

I know! Two posts in one week, here’s hoping I’m starting to manage my college work a little better….!

I can’t reveal too much about the goodies within today’s project as they’re Christmas presents for my family (my craft room smells gorgeous though!), but I thought I could share the gift wrapping that I have done to put them in.

The Tag-A-Bags have sadly been an overlooked purchase in my craft stash, not sure why as they are BRILLIANT! I followed this tutorial to create the expanding bag rather than use them flat as they come.

As you can see two are similar, and one’s different, this was to help me remember who they are to go to! So two are for one person hence the similarities!

IMG_2043The Burlap ribbon has been another over looked item in my craft collection, I think because I associate it so much with Christmas or Wreaths, but I’m so glad I tested it against the bag.  Think that the burlap looks stunning with the crumb cake card stock and gold trim.

 IMG_2047

I had a bit of a play around with the doilies and thought they worked well with this project as well, what do you think?

IMG_2048

A tip we were shown at convention was colouring the gold trim with the blendabilities to achieve a multitude of colours; it is now one of my favourite things to do! The gold trim here has been coloured with the Cherry Cobbler Blendy – it’s so pretty!

IMG_2049

The confetti stars punch has been used on the flap on the bag and on the tag.  This punch is so cute! Think my Christmas cards are mainly going to be sequins and stars at this rate!

Happy Father’s Day! Card Made by Sam’s Crafty Things, using Stampin’ Up! Products

Hi everyone!

Phew it’s a scorcher! I’m so not a lover of muggy days like today, little sleep and not being able to move without breaking into a sweat does not a happy crafty girl make! However, it is lovely to have the sun on my skin and being able to do things with family out and about on the coast.

Today is obviously Father’s Day so I am sharing the card that I’ve made for my wonderful daddy! I love the ‘Look Up to Father’ stamp from the Spring/Summer catalogue, the sentiment sums up how a child should feel about their dad’s, it certainly reflects how I feel about mine.

I coloured the tree with the Stampin’ Write markers so that I could get different colours on the stamp, but also if you look carefully at the leaves and grass you can see there’s a gradient in the colours so it looks like shading rather than being a flat colour.

How fabulous is the ‘Hardwood’ stamp? Been eyeing it up for months and finally bought it, I think you’ll be seeing a lot more of it in the coming months!

I hope you like this week’s card, I am hoping to be able to blog a bit more this week as “whoop, whoop” I finished my first assignments today! They’ve gone in for review and then I’ll get my second assignment on Thursday….. my poor frazzled brain!

Thanks for taking time to stop by, Happy Father’s Day to all you daddy’s out there!

Pirate Owl First Birthday Card! Made by Sam’s Crafty Things, using Stampin’ Up! Products

Hi everyone!

Today I’m headed to Telford ready for tomorrow’s regional training! I’m so excited it’s stupid! Cannot wait to see old and new faces, swap fabulous ideas with team mates and other teams, and to get inspiration from the fantastic talks that are going to be given! Oh and hopefully get a sneak peek of the new catalogue! **Squeallllll!!!**

Breathe Sam! Back to today’s post!

Last week was my gorgeous Godson’s first birthday.  I cannot believe where the last year has gone! Feels like 5 minutes since he was born! His fabulous parents threw a lovely little party for him with a ‘Jake and the Neverland Pirates’ Theme, anyone who doesn’t know who this is you can subject yourself to the theme song here….! (Sad thing is I just sat and watched that…!) I therefore decided to stick with the pirate theme with his card.

I used the Petite Pennant’s to make the ‘bunting’ across the top of the card, and my Cameo Silhouette to write out his name and to add the age at the bottom of the card.

I really enjoyed making the pirate owl, I’ve seen loads of them on Pinterest but never got round to making one until this card, can see them being pretty popular…..wonder if I can do a pirate Christmas card for him this year?!

I’ll be armed with my camera tomorrow so you can expect to see plenty of photographs in the next few days 🙂 stop by my Facebook page if you can’t wait that long!

Thanks for stopping by!
