Happy 21st Birthday!

Hi everyone!

How was your weekend and Valentine’s Day?

It was my ‘brother in law’s’ birthday last week and he turned 21 (in lockdown too, poor thing!) he’s into all things gaming so I had to create something that reflected this.

He uses multiple platforms so I went for the controllers from the top 2, a PS4 and Xbox. This was achieved using an electronic die cutter. I then punched the buttons out in the correlating colours and glued them on to the controller images.

I used the ‘Playful Alphabet’ Alphabet Dies to cut out 21, and used the ‘Playing with Patterns’ Designer Series Paper for the background.

I hope you like today’s card.

Stay safe!

Birthday Boy!

Hey everyone!

Finally in February, usually the start of my fun few weeks, Rugby Six Nations starts, it’s my birthday, it’s three of my best friends birthday’s, (I ignore Valentine’s day, it’s too close to my birthday!) so normally we’d be planning trips to the pub, nights out, mini breaks etc. It’s so easy to feel down about missing all of it but I’m going to try to channel my disappointment and frustration into positive activities such as crafting, continuing my ‘One Little Word’ journey, and supporting my friends from a distance!

As I said in my last post, I’m determined to send birthday cards to friends and family this year, and today’s card is one I made for my gorgeous friends youngest, who turned 8 today!

It’s scary where time goes isn’t it! I remember when he was born and it does not feel that long ago! My friend has 3 dogs so the Hot Dog stamp set was perfect for this creation. The wonderful Monica Gale inspired my card, and you can find her post here.

I always forget about using the ‘Playful Alphabet’ Dies for anything other than label, and I think this is definitely something I will use them for more often, and is a perfect way to use up those scraps of card laying around.

I hope you like today’s card. Would love to hear what words you’d use for the background.

Thanks for stopping by!

InspireINK Blog Hop – January 2021

Happy blog hop day!

Thank you for coming over to my contribution to the first of InspireINKS blog hops in 2021! The theme today is:

The fabulous Spring / Summer catalogue is live, with loads of ideas and products for birthday’s, weddings, Father’s Day etc. I went straight for the birthday stamps as I am determined to send all my friends and family cards this year, even if they’re late! 😉

The colours I chose based on a photo of a cake I saw! It’s funny how inspiration hits in the strangest of places!

The cake image I originally stamped on to the watercolour card but when I added everything in, it just didn’t work and looked out of place. I decided to colour the cake and foolishly fussy cut it out, only remembered halfway through that there was a die-cut for it next to me…! (I’m blaming lockdown fog!)

If you’re enjoying today’s hop then follow the below link to continue onto the other fantastic projects from the team.

Stay safe!

30th Birthday Woofs and Kisses!

Well hello there!

After nearly 18 months I’m finally back to blogging! Not sure where that time went to be honest, but know that 2020 was a blur for a lot of us. As my main job I work for the NHS and it has definitely been interesting and scary. I have the upmost respect for all front line staff, key workers, and last responders, and want to say thank you to them for everything they have done and continue to do.

This month my lovely cousin turned 30, and as a Vet Nurse Manager what better stamp set to use than the ‘Hot Dog’ collection from the Spring/Summer catalogue!

I love the little extras that are included, such as the balloon and the hat, and knew I had to include them!

As you can see I still love to messy craft with watercolouring and stencils! I did use a digital cutter for the starburst shape as I needed a specific size to fit with the circle.

Pinterest came to the rescue for the colour combination, from a photo of jelly beans actually!

I hope you’re all staying safe.

Pootlers Autumn/Winter Blog Hop

Hi everyone!

I’m super excited to be sharing my project with you today as part of the Pootlers’ Blog Hop. This time featuring products from the new Autumn/Winter catalogue.

I’m not usually a Halloween person, but since my Step-Children have come into my life I’ve found myself taking part in the festivities, especially pumpkin carving!

Today’s project features the Spooktacular Bash bundle. I love the intricate border dies, they really make a future of the stamps.

The embossed effect on the belly band was done using the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks and Embossing Paste mixed with black ink. I saw it in the catalogue and knew I wanted to recreate it, I can see me using this a lot!

The pizza box was coloured using black ink and a dauber, to make the ink spread easier I mixed it with glycerin and then blotted onto the card. It’s messy, but worth it!

I hope you have liked my project today, don’t forget to pop over to everyone else’s by using the inlinz below!
