Magical Unicorns!

Hi everyone!

Today I’m sharing a card using my FAVOURITE stamp set (which is retiring…boo!!), in fact I have a few more to share with you over forthcoming blog posts! 🙂

Anyone who knows me will know how obsessed I am with unicorns, so this stamp was the obvious choice for me when I was wanting to make a few cards ready to send out to friends and family. I decided to play about with the Stampin’ Up! Watercolour Pencils and created the mane by using Melon Mambo, Night of Navy, and Bermuda Bay. I the created the shading with Basic Grey (although slightly overdid it!).

The background was created by sponging Melon Mambo on to the card stock, ensuring that I started on a piece of grip paper first to remove any dark ink blotches. I then gradually extended the colour further up the card until I was happy with the end result.

The ‘One of a Kind’ colour was created using the Stampin’ Up! Stampin’ Write Markers, by starting with the lightest colour and then quickly scribbling over with the two darker colours.

I hope you like today’s card.

Love Faux Metal Embossing! Using Stampin’ Up! Products

Hi everyone!

I hope you have had a good weekend.  I’ve spent it still recovering from a virus and an ear infection, I’ll be glad when I can hear properly out of my left ear again!

IMG_1617

Today’s card features not a new technique, but one I’ve not used up until now.  Wow! I think I’m in love! This is such a fun way to create your own embellishments to add to a design.  If you want to learn how to do it, I used this Stampin’ Up! tutorial.

IMG_1619

The photos really don’t do the shininess of the copper or the black justice.  The Love embellishment was done by cutting the sentiment (from the Sunshine Wishes Dies) three times in Basic Black card stock and then sticking them on top of each other.  I then glossed them with the ‘Fine-Tip Glue Pen’.

I hope you have liked this card, and if you decide to give faux metal embossing a try please do share your projects in the comments.

My Project 6-001

Hi everyone!

We decided to mix it up a bit this month and go for a colour challenge rather than a sketch, and the lovey Hannah gave us these to play around with…

I love that Hannah has pushed us out of our comfort zone with this one.  I knew straight away which stamp set I wanted to use, especially with Bushing Bride featuring…

Aren’t these pigs just the cutest! We saw them in Convention back in April and lets just say there was nearly a scuffle when it came to Prize Patrol!

30th Birthday Celebration using Stampin’ Up! Products

Hi everyone!

Today is my friend Kayley’s 30th birthday.  She had a wonderful party on Saturday where there was a lot of dancing and Prosecco! Needless to say Sunday was a wash out!!

I wanted to do something a bit special for her as it’s a big birthday so decided to do a matching set of card, bottle bag, and gift card holder.

Apologies for the lack of cropping in my photos! I was trying to do too many things at once.

The bottle box was inspired by Linda Parker’s tutorial (a fellow Pootler!) but I adjusted the measurements to fit the Prosecco bottle in.

I love the Balloon Celebration stamp set from the Spring/Summer catalogue, especially with the matching punch.  It’s such a simple yet effective set that I really think works with this project.  The Number of Years set with Framelits is just perfect for these big events as well, can definitely see me getting more use from it!

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge 2!

My Project 6-001

Thank you for joining us for another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! We’re so excited to be sharing this hop with you. The products used are all available in the current Annual, or seasonal, Stampin’ Up!® Catalogues*. Simply use the buttons at the bottom of the post to keep hopping!

Today’s sketch it courtesy of Amy (see previous blog).  Think she wanted to challenge us by adding angles!  Also a MASSIVE Happy Birthday to Amy, who celebrated her big day earlier this week!

My Project 7-001

It took me a really short time to decide what I wanted to do as I knew I needed to make a card to send to our niece who has recently started University to study Art Photography.  We have recently discovered that we both have a mutual obsession with stationery so I promised her some ‘care packages’; I have some really nice things to send her, along with this card 🙂

IMG_9081

I love the Awesomely Artistic Stamp Set, it’s so versatile.  Love how the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set influences so many others and means we get more options of splatter! (which is always fun to use!)

IMG_9082

The Greetings Thinlet Dies called out to me from the Catalogue as soon as I saw them but it took me a while to purchase them and use.  So glad that I did now though! They cut so lovely with the glimmer paper and look even lovelier in reality!

IMG_9073

Now the glitter heat and stick took me a while to like.  After re-inking my Versamark though and getting a few tips from my Stampin’ Up! Family I am getting to grips with it.  If you’re experiencing difficulties with it make sure you’re not heating for too long as this stuff goes from sticky glue to set glue in seconds!

IMG_9084

You can’t really see it in the picture about but I used a Wink of Stella Clear Pen on some of the ‘splatter’ to add a bit more sparkle.

I really hope you’ve liked my project today and that you enjoy the rest of the incredible projects on the hop.

Thanks for ‘hopping’ by! 🙂
