InspireINK blog hop!

Hi everyone!

Happy New Year! The start of the year has been crazy busy for me and I’ve not had chance to do any crafting! I’ve had to force myself to have an evening in the craft room to get the project ready for the new and improved blog hop! You may remember that I said the format of the Simply Sketched Saturday challenge would be changing, well here we are! I’ve had fun creating the new graphics and introducing new members to the group, as well as continuing on with many familiar faces!

The theme this month was Shimmer, Sparkle, and Shine.  What can I say, glitter is not just for Christmas!

I had this idea in my head when I saw the Myths and Magic DSP and knew I wanted to create a game with it. The first idea I had was to create the card game “snap!”.

The images are so cute! Someone said to me that they were in the style of the Disney Sleeping Beauty film, and I have to agree!

I had to make sure the backs were identical so there’s no cheating!

I hope you’ve enjoyed the blog hop today, your next stop is the lovely Jill Chapman.

Pootlers Design Team – Week 3, December 2017

Hey everyone!

Welcome to week 3 of the Pootlers Design Team.

Can you believe it’s less than a week until Christmas! Where has this year gone?

This week I wanted to share a gift that I’ve made for one of my close friends.  I love receiving personal letters in the post, it’s sad that we have lost the skill of letter writing in modern social media, so how about we bring it back. To start I thought it would be nice to have a few individual cards to send, and to hold those cards you need a pretty tin.

I made four cards for the tin, and made each one slightly different from the next.

I hope you’ve liked this weeks project, and I look forward to sharing next weeks, our last Design Team project, with you all.

I wish you all an incredible Christmas.

Pootlers Design Team – Week 2, December 2017

Hi everyone!

Thanks for coming back to view my second project for the Pootlers Design Team.  As you know from last week the stamp set we were given to work with was ‘Crafting Forever’.

You’ll probably have noticed from my older posts that I adore watercoloring, and I couldn’t resist using it with this stamp set.

I’ve not really used ‘Sweet Sugarplum’ as it’s not a colour that appealed to me, but I think it works quite well with these colours.

How cute are the dolly pegs! I did think about drawing faces on them but worried I was going a bit ’50 shades’…! 😀

The sentiment is so true for my house at the moment! Christmas crafting and preparations are well into effect and I’ve not much time to run a duster round! Oh well, who needs sleep…?!

My partner’s still going strong with his crafting.  It’s nice having someone to share the different techniques with and seeing them learn and grow from it.  Crafting can be rewarding in so many ways!

I look forward to sharing my project with you next week!

Pootlers Design Team Week 1, December 2017

Hi everyone!

Thanks for coming over to view my project.  I’m incredibly honoured by Sam to allow me to take part in what will be the last month of the Design Team projects.

The stamp set she supplied this month has been on my wish list since I first saw it in Amsterdam at On Stage.

With the run up to Christmas firmly upon us I thought I’d start off with a gift box.  The stamps work perfectly for a crafty friend and associated gift, so I decided to gift myself the watercolour pencils… 😉

How amazing a colour is Lemon Lime Twist?! It just makes me happy!

I recently found a bargain sewing machine in a budget supermarket locally, meaning that I was able to stitch the ribbon together rather than glueing to make it stronger.

The pens were coloured using the blender pens, I love how many colouring options Stampin’ Up! now gives us, especially with the recent release of the Stampin’ Blends.

The sentiment is so accurate for crafty people like us, I know that I can’t go a day without being creative!

Speaking of unleashing creativity…I recently introduced my boyfriend to the wonders of crafting and boy is he taking to it like a duck to water! I think I’ll be hiding my Stampin’ Up! orders so he doesn’t use things before me!  Here are his first attempts (first ever card is on the left).

Thanks again for stopping by, I hope you’ll come back next week to see what other projects I’ve made.

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge – Christmas theme

Hi everyone

Thank you for joining us on our Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge Blog Hop. Each month we are set a challenge to creatively stretch our imaginations. The products we have used are all available in the current Annual and/or seasonal Stampin’ Up!® catalogues. To hop along, please use the buttons at the bottom of the post to keep hopping.

I don’t think I’m in the other hoppers good books this month with thee colour challenge I set! Personally, I love these colours for Christmas!

Recently we had some training with our wonderful upline, Sam Hammond-Donald, and she treated us to the ‘Half Full’ stamp set and explained the story behind it, a few tears were shed I will admit.

I love doubling up ribbon and seeing the alternatives it creates.  The gold is really set off by the ‘Fresh Fig’ don’t you think?  The background was done by repeatedly stamping the 6 glasses image inked in Island Indigo.

The sentiment made me giggle as it does sound like something my friends and I would say! Shame there isn’t one for Prosecco as well…! 😉

Use the button below to move onto the wonderful Hannah and her fabulous take on this months challenge.

This is the last challenge of 2017 but we will be back in the New Year with a whole new look!

Thanks for stopping by.
