Stampin’ Up! Mermaid birthday wishes

Hi everyone!

Well it’s officially mad crafting season! As per usual I’m running way behind and realised last night that my evenings are limited for the next few weeks, cue mad panic!

It’s my partners daughter’s birthday today and he wanted a special card making for her. I couldn’t think what teenage girls would like, but figured that mermaids would be a good guess…!

There is a small sneak peek from the Spring / Summer catalogue going on with this card too, *hint – background*! I’m in love!

My Wink of Stella had run out so was shocked when I used my new one how sparkly it is!  It’s been a while! I shall be stocking up from now on, daren’t run that risk again!  I love the effect it has on the mermaid tail.

I made the ‘netting’ by cutting a piece of the Copper Trim in half and spreading out.  I then attached to the card, crunching it up where needed.

I couldn’t miss the inside either so I used Stampin’ Write Markers to create the multicoloured sentiment and small mermaid.

I really hope the recipient loves it.

Love Faux Metal Embossing! Using Stampin’ Up! Products

Hi everyone!

I hope you have had a good weekend.  I’ve spent it still recovering from a virus and an ear infection, I’ll be glad when I can hear properly out of my left ear again!

Today’s card features not a new technique, but one I’ve not used up until now.  Wow! I think I’m in love! This is such a fun way to create your own embellishments to add to a design.  If you want to learn how to do it, I used this Stampin’ Up! tutorial.

The photos really don’t do the shininess of the copper or the black justice.  The Love embellishment was done by cutting the sentiment (from the Sunshine Wishes Dies) three times in Basic Black card stock and then sticking them on top of each other.  I then glossed them with the ‘Fine-Tip Glue Pen’.

I hope you have liked this card, and if you decide to give faux metal embossing a try please do share your projects in the comments.

Flamingo Thank You using Stampin’ Up! Products

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share with you this cute thank you card I made for a special friend of mine.

I recently went up to stay with her for the weekend and she always makes me feel so welcome so I wanted to show my gratitude.

How adorable are those Flamingo’s! or as my friends daughter calls them, ‘Mingo’s’!

I cut out one Flamingo, a water image, and a grass image, and stuck them to the cards using Dimensionals to create the 3D effect. I then topped the water image with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to create the glossy shine to the water.

I wanted to make the inside of the card match the outside, and the sentiment, I think, matches my friends personality!

Apologies for my absence of late, I’ve been really struggling to get into the crafting mindset and have numerous projects in my office that I’ve started but not found the inspiration to finish.  I’m very lucky though that my boyfriend is encouraging and is inspiring me to be more creative, so hopefully the crafters’ block will pass quickly!

Thanks for stopping by!

The Creative Flow – Foxy Winter Wishes!

15037240_10209733097277490_1526821120512193101_n.jpgThank you for joining us on our Creative Flow Blog Hop. Each month we are set a challenge to creatively stretch our imaginations. The products we have used are all available in the current Annual and/or seasonal Stampin’ Up!® catalogues. To hop along, please use the buttons at the bottom of the post to keep hopping.

Wow what a challenge Jerim set us this time! The theme was “create something winter themed but not Christmas”.  I thought it would be fairly straight forward but with Christmas having been so recent I could not shift my head away from thinking about it!After a searching through my stamp sets and punches I finally found some inspiration with the ‘Foxy Friends’ stamp set

I love the wreath effect on this, wish I’d thought of it for some Christmas cards but I have a few ideas brewing for it now!

I hope you’ve liked my contribution to the hop, use the buttons to hop forward to Anne or back to Keila.
