Triangle Box

Hi everyone

Something a little different from me today, I was messing around with some Easter Eggs I bought and knew I wanted to make a box for them.  Yes I’m a little late putting this up but it’s perfect for little gifts too!

I hope you enjoy this VIDEO (I know! First video in 3 years!) please do let me know your thoughts in the comments.

It’s Magic! Made by Sam’s Crafty Things, using Stampin’ Up! Products

Hi everyone!

Phew where’s this week gone already! My apologies for my absence, it’s not been a great week with various things going on in my life and I started college through work once a fortnight! The homework is extensive and copious so I’m fitting my crafting / blogging around this, so today it’s been really nice to come and sit in craft room and just switch off, put my music on, and forget about everything bar the project I’m about to share!

A fellow crafter used this technique on her blog a couple of weeks ago and as soon as I saw it I knew I had to try it, especially as my fabulous Blendabilities arrived this week!! So thank you Craft Hallett for the inspiration and the link to the tutorial!

As you can see the old banner punch has come out of storage! That’s because it’s been added to the FANTASTIC new catalogue! If you want to get your hands on one of these catalogues for FREE just place an order with me before 30 June and I’ll send you one, along with a colour chart and a small thank you gift.

Unfortunately my flash went off on this photo so you can’t see the “magic” as it were, so I’ve tried to show it in the one below.  I think I’ll take a more detailed one on my phone later and share on my Facebook page.

How cute is this stamp?! I knew as soon as I saw it I wanted it and was so happy it was included in the Demo’s preorder!  If you want to join my team and get access to new products before anyone else, you can sign up by clicking the link at the bottom of the page or you can contact me for more information.  I’ve used the image for my friend who’s birthday is on Thursday, we like to have a good chat over a few cocktails every now and again so it seemed perfect!

The dress has been coloured with the new Blendabilities (Cherry Cobbler), I do like the way that Stampin’ Up! Decided to have a lighter and a darker version of the pen in one set, I usually use copies and spend forever trying to find the right shading colours so this has made life a little bit easier!

I hope that the weekend is treating you well so far, we had a huge thunderstorm here this morning which terrified my fur baby and led to me being awake at 6:30 this morning and now looking like a zombie!

Thanks for stopping by!

Love week – box of hearts

My Project 15-001

Hi everyone!

Love week continues here at Sam’s Crafty Things, today with the growingly popular card in a box design.  I’ve been itching to make one of these and thought that Valentine’s would be the perfect excuse to try one!

IMG_1766

They’re super cute and so easy to make! I followed the fabulous Monica Gale’s tutorial but did adjust it to the sizes I wanted afterwards.

IMG_1767

I have to admit that I was a bit stuck with the colour scheme as I chose to do the main box in Cherry Cobbler so I didn’t want to use colours or papers that would clash with it.  It then occurred to me to keep it classic and simple and use the ‘Modern Medley’ DSP and just use ‘Basic Black’ and ‘Cherry Cobbler’ ink pads for the stamps.

IMG_1768

The stamp set you will have seen on a few of my older posts, but it just had to be used for the Valentine’s theme!  Best part is that it is still available in the Spring/Summer catalogue so you can spread the love all through the season!

The sentiment from ‘Yippie Skippie’ just had to be used.IMG_1771

I have to admit that the box cards are slightly addictive to make and I think my best friend will be getting one for her birthday next week!

How are you enjoying love week so far? I hope you’re enjoying it, please do leave comments, I love to read and reply to those of you who do 🙂

Thanks for stopping by!

Stocking fillers

Hi everyone!

How were your weekends? Mine flew by as per norm and I only managed a little bit of crafting due to back having a fit!

Anyway! Last night I decided to confront my biggest crafting fear…..the sewing machine!! Sounds daft, especially when both my grandmothers were seamstresses! But it’s just one thing I’ve always been scared of using, think its because I can’t see straight lines!

So here is my first sewing / paper craft project, a candy cane stocking filler…

What do you think? I’m a little addicted to using the sewing machine and have a few more projects in mind….watch this space!!

Christmas brew

Hi all!

You may remember a couple of months ago I showed you some paper mugs (view blog post here) well here’s a slight Christmas variation!

A friend of mine asked for some as gifts for her child’s teachers, and this gave me the perfect opportunity to play with MDS as well!

IMG_1499

I have ummed and ahhed over MDS (My Digital Studio) for a while and it wasn’t until I saw the incredible projects that fellow demos  had made at Convention that I decided to get it.  I am now so glad that I did (there’s another project coming your way at the weekend 😉 ) I was struggling to get the text size right to fit into the decorative punch, and I did want to waste DSP by cutting it down to size for the printer; so in a lightening bolt moment I wondered if MDS would have the decorative label punch shape….and it did!

As you can see I managed to add my text, chose some nice DSP designs, and then print them off.  They fitted perfectly into the decorative label punch and I am now in love with MDS! It’s the little things that matter! 😉

I’ve added a little flourish of Chevron Ribbon to the bag of marshmallows to add to the Christmas feel.  I just hope that the teachers like them and enjoy their hot chocolates over Christmas, although hopefully not out of these mugs…!

Thanks for stopping by!
