InspireINK blog hop!

Hi everyone!

Happy New Year! The start of the year has been crazy busy for me and I’ve not had chance to do any crafting! I’ve had to force myself to have an evening in the craft room to get the project ready for the new and improved blog hop! You may remember that I said the format of the Simply Sketched Saturday challenge would be changing, well here we are! I’ve had fun creating the new graphics and introducing new members to the group, as well as continuing on with many familiar faces!

The theme this month was Shimmer, Sparkle, and Shine.  What can I say, glitter is not just for Christmas!

I had this idea in my head when I saw the Myths and Magic DSP and knew I wanted to create a game with it. The first idea I had was to create the card game “snap!”.

The images are so cute! Someone said to me that they were in the style of the Disney Sleeping Beauty film, and I have to agree!

I had to make sure the backs were identical so there’s no cheating!

I hope you’ve enjoyed the blog hop today, your next stop is the lovely Jill Chapman.

Pootlers Design Team – Week 4, December 2017

Hi everyone!

Did you have a nice Christmas? It’s lovely to spend some quality time with family and just relax.  Having said that it was my turn to host this year so stress levels were slightly higher!

As soon as I received this stamp set I knew what I wanted to make as I’ve been itching to document On Stage in Amsterdam earlier this year in a way that I could display in my craft room.  I saved this project until last because I wanted to thank everyone in the photos for making the past year so much fun! They really are my crafting family ❤

This sentiment is just so accurate for the Stampin’ Up! friends that I’ve made over the past 4.5 years.  I added in the dotted lines with the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.

The watercolour effect on the pen pot was achieved using the Brusho powders that you’ll see in the forthcoming Spring/Summer catalogue.  I created the purple by mixing the  Prussian Blue and Brilliant Red on a wet piece of water colour card.  I then went over with a ‘Wink of Stella’ pen.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the past 4 weeks of the Pootlers Design Team projects.  I know I’ve enjoyed being able to share them with you.

I wish you all a very Happy New Year, and I can’t wait to share more projects with you in 2018!

Pootlers Design Team – Week 3, December 2017

Hey everyone!

Welcome to week 3 of the Pootlers Design Team.

Can you believe it’s less than a week until Christmas! Where has this year gone?

This week I wanted to share a gift that I’ve made for one of my close friends.  I love receiving personal letters in the post, it’s sad that we have lost the skill of letter writing in modern social media, so how about we bring it back. To start I thought it would be nice to have a few individual cards to send, and to hold those cards you need a pretty tin.

I made four cards for the tin, and made each one slightly different from the next.

I hope you’ve liked this weeks project, and I look forward to sharing next weeks, our last Design Team project, with you all.

I wish you all an incredible Christmas.

Blender Pens

Pootlers Design Team Week 1, December 2017

Hi everyone!

Thanks for coming over to view my project.  I’m incredibly honoured by Sam to allow me to take part in what will be the last month of the Design Team projects.

The stamp set she supplied this month has been on my wish list since I first saw it in Amsterdam at On Stage.

With the run up to Christmas firmly upon us I thought I’d start off with a gift box.  The stamps work perfectly for a crafty friend and associated gift, so I decided to gift myself the watercolour pencils… 😉

How amazing a colour is Lemon Lime Twist?! It just makes me happy!

I recently found a bargain sewing machine in a budget supermarket locally, meaning that I was able to stitch the ribbon together rather than glueing to make it stronger.

The pens were coloured using the blender pens, I love how many colouring options Stampin’ Up! now gives us, especially with the recent release of the Stampin’ Blends.

The sentiment is so accurate for crafty people like us, I know that I can’t go a day without being creative!

Speaking of unleashing creativity…I recently introduced my boyfriend to the wonders of crafting and boy is he taking to it like a duck to water! I think I’ll be hiding my Stampin’ Up! orders so he doesn’t use things before me!  Here are his first attempts (first ever card is on the left).

Thanks again for stopping by, I hope you’ll come back next week to see what other projects I’ve made.

Triangle Box

Hi everyone

Something a little different from me today, I was messing around with some Easter Eggs I bought and knew I wanted to make a box for them.  Yes I’m a little late putting this up but it’s perfect for little gifts too!

I hope you enjoy this VIDEO (I know! First video in 3 years!) please do let me know your thoughts in the comments.
